Claymont Library "Loaning" out Seeds

Welcome to the World of Saving and Sharing Seeds!

Look what is "blooming" at our library.  The Library is giving out heirloom seeds at no charge.
A commitment to growing plants from seeds is a gift to yourself.  We hope you learn much, experience the joy of gardening, and enjoy the fruits of your labor.  We have a limit of six packets of seeds per person.  This may change accordingly.  At harvest time, please take a some extra steps to save seeds for others.  We ask that a portion of the seeds you save be returned to the seed lending library to keep the library self-sustaining.  The more seeds in the library, the more members of our community can experience the pleasures of growing their own food.  We have seeds available in the following categories:

Beans(Various types-Pole and Bush), Beets, Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Cantaloupe, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Flowers, Gourds, Greens (Lettuce, Spinach, Mustard, Kale and Collards), Herbs, Okra, Onions, Parsnips, Peas, Peppers (Bell, Sweet, Mild and Hot), Pumpkins, Radishes, Squash, Tomatoes, Turnips, Watermelon and Zucchini.

For more information you may contact the Library at 740-922-3626.

The Seed is hope; the flower is joy.
